Russell County School District recognizes that student success is a shared responsibility. Strong partnerships among students, parents and families, educators, school leaders, and the community are essential to supporting the academic, social, and personal growth of every child.

We are committed to meaningful family engagement and shared decision-making, encouraging parents and families to be active and informed partners in their child’s education. By working collaboratively, we can better understand and address the individual needs of students and create a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Family Engagement Opportunities

Russell County School District provides opportunities for parents, family members, and caregivers to engage with their schools and gain the knowledge and resources needed to support student learning. Workshops, seminars, and training opportunities are offered at both the school and district levels.

The district also provides training and support for Title I Parent Leaders, helping parents develop leadership skills and become active participants in school and district initiatives.

Our family engagement efforts focus on:

Parents' Right to Know

Russell County School District is committed to ensuring that parents and families have access to important information about their child’s education, teachers, academic progress, available programs, and opportunities for support. We encourage parents to stay informed, ask questions, communicate regularly with their child’s school, and take an active role in their child’s educational journey.
