Transportation is provided for students in grades K-12. School Bus Transportation is a vital and integral part of the Russell County Education System. Russell County is a rural community that covers over 640 square miles. We transport, on average, 3,200 students 3,600 miles every day. The fleet is composed of 75 buses, including spares, with 62 of these buses on regular routes and 6 special needs routes.

It is recommended that students arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Please inform your child to wait a reasonable amount of time for the bus arrival. Please keep in mind that buses may not always arrive on time due to adverse weather conditions or traffic delays.

Any student whose behavior is detrimental to the welfare or safety of other students or who refuses to follow directions may be denied the privilege of riding the school bus.
