Mrs. Johnson-Long

Hi! My Name is Mrs. Monique Johnson-Long! I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education K-6 from Stillman College. I also obtained a minor in Nursing assistance (CNA)  . I enjoy traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. This will be my 1st year teaching at Oliver Elementary and my 8thth year as an elementary school teacher. Hello! My name is Tanyanika Shephard and I am excited to be part of the Blue Jay family. I have a wonderful 9-year-old son who is a social butterfly and loves to help others. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Montevallo and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Elementary Education from GCU. I look forward to having a great school year filled with love and learning.

Amber Livingston

Hello, I’m Amber Livingston. I enjoy spending time with family and working with kids. I have been a volunteer in Russell County Schools for almost 20 years. I also served as PTO President at Oliver Elementary for 4 years, and I have been a substitute teacher for 5 years. I have 3 boys who have all attended Russell County Schools. I am so excited and grateful to become an official member of the Oliver Blue Jay Faculty!!!

Amy Mills

Hi, I am Amy Mills and I will be the new 5th grade ELA teacher! This will be my 16th year in RC and I’m super excited to be an Oliver Blue Jay! I love reading and spending time with my family at the lake, beach, or pool! My greatest joy in life is getting to be Mimi to our five granddaughters. 😊 I am looking forward to a fantastic school year!

Shaniqua Evans

Hi! I am Shaniqua Evans and I’m so excited to be joining Oliver Elementary School to serve as the Reading Intervention teacher. I have taught in Russell County for 6 years. In addition to teaching, I have earned a bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from The University of Alabama, a Master’s in Elementary Education from Alabama State University, a Specialist Degree in Elementary Education from The University of West Alabama and an Administration Leadership Degree from the University of West Alabama. During this year your child will have many new and exciting experiences. The skills we practice daily are the building blocks for your child's future success in school and in life! I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year!!!

Hello, my name is April Price. This is my 14th year teaching. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Elementary Education. I enjoy cooking, camping, hiking, shopping, and traveling. Susan Leigh

My name is Susan Leigh. I am married to Keith. We have been married 38 years and have two grown children, Catherine and Christopher. I taught for 17 years in MCSD and tutored for one year in Phenix City. I have worked in private and public school settings. I have taught pre-k through 8th grade. My hobbies are reading, taking long walks, and spending time with my family. I attend church at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Columbus.

Evangeline Morey

My name is Evangeline Morey, and I am excited to be a part of the 2nd-grade team at Oliver Elementary. I am from Phenix City, Alabama, and received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education through Western Governors University. This year is my first-year teaching in public school; however, I bring several years of teaching experience from homeschooling my children and substitute teaching throughout all grade levels.

I am passionate about helping each child develop academically, socially, and emotionally to reach their full potential. My goal is to develop a family of lifelong learners who love learning and supporting one another.

Darea Brazile

I am Darea Brazile, but I go by Raymon. I am a United States Navy Veteran. I have my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have worked for six years in an early childhood/ Pre-K setting. In my spare time I love bowling, watching football and playing with my daughter!
