Miss Victoria Crews

My name is Victoria Crews and I am the counselor for the Rain Dancers, Dream Catchers, and Trailblazers here at Russell County Middle School! I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies back in 2013. I then graduated a second time from Auburn with my Master’s in School Counseling in May of 2016. After getting my Master’s, I took some time off and went on an incredible three month long road trip around the country with my best friend and then began my search for a school counseling position! When I am not at RCMS counseling students, I am most likely playing guitar, cooking, gardening, or traveling to visit my amazing friends and family.

Why did I become a school counselor? First of all, I have always been concerned about the well-being of children and knew that the best place I could help children is the school setting. I strongly believe that there needs to be someone in every student’s corner! I was driven to become a school counselor because of the fact that not all students are given the same starting point and the same resources. I feel that it is my passion and my responsibility to help any student that is facing barriers from being a happy child and becoming a successful adult. But most importantly, I understand that it can be hard to be a kid, and that adults sometimes forget that.
