Despite the significant changes that our nation is facing educationally, we stand ready to navigate through the 2021-2022 school year in a positive and creative manner to ensure that we maintain a strong learning community that guarantees optimum success.

  • I am Kimberly Jones, and I am thrilled to be the assistant principal at Mt. Olive Primary and Mt.Olive Intermediate School. I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama and have lived in or
around the Tri-County area all my life before my family and I relocated to Russell County.

I began my teaching career with Montgomery County Public Schools in 2001. I was employed with Elmore County Public Schools before I transitioned to be the Reading Interventionist and 504 Chairperson at Russell County Middle School in 2021. My educational background includes a B.S. in Elementary Education, an M.S. in Instructional Leadership, and an Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership, all of which obtained from Alabama State University.

Personally, I am happily married to my wonderful husband, Quintin Jones, and I am the mother of two exceptional sons, two remarkable daughters and a grandmother to one amazing granddaughter .
Together, as a family, we enjoy going to church, traveling, cooking, watching movies, and playing
board games, but most of all, we enjoy spending time together.

I am beyond grateful and honored to have this opportunity to work with the students, parents, and staff of MOPS and MOIS. As the assistant principal, my goals are to build positive relationships with all students and parents, to promote positive behavior, and to work together to ensure that our students experience success each and every day!
